At Paul Murphy Plastics our manufacturing processes focus on precision plastic profile extrusions. It is this reputation that led a customer in the office accessories industry to commission us for this plastic extrusion edge molding project.

The edging the client requested was to be used to trim and finish the perimeter of a marker board. Our challenge was in the shape of the edging specified by the client. However, we thrive on challenges and using our state-of-the-art equipment, successfully extruded and cut the integrally colored polypropylene to 0.72″ wide x 0.67″ high. The outer edge to center tolerance was held to ±0.007″ and the pieces were given a matte finish.

To ensure the quality of the extrusions met our high standards, we performed in process testing and inspections. We confirmed profile dimensions, verified straightness over the length of the molding, and checked color matching.  All objectives were achieved and the client was very pleased with the final product.
