As explained by IQS Directory in their article “Plastic Fabrication Processes,” plastics’ excellent formability has led to the development of several highly effective manufacturing techniques. These methods allow plastics to be molded, cast, extruded, or spun with relatively low heat and pressure.
Injection molding remains one of the most common techniques for creating plastic parts. This process injects molten plastic into a mold to form open-sided parts and, with the addition of gas-assisted techniques, even hollow items. It is highly efficient for mass production.
